Animals & their Habitats
Hey kids, how are you? I’m Professor Jaquelyn Santini nice to meet you kids! Let's begin, shall we? Animals live in special places called habitats. A habitat is an animal’s home, where it can find the food, water, shelter, and space it needs to live.nps
Some animals live in forests, some live in oceans, and some live in deserts. For example, a fish lives in water, a bird may live in a tree, and a camel can live in the hot, dry desert. Every animal needs a habitat that helps it stay safe, healthy, and strong!

Different animals live in different habitats because each place gives them what they need.
-
Fish live in oceans, rivers, lakes, and ponds. They swim in water.
-
Camels live in dry deserts. They can live with very little water.
-
Lions live in grasslands with tall grass.
-
Squirrels and bears can live in forests, where there are many trees.
-
Polar bears and penguins live in very cold polar habitats.
-
Turtles and some fish live in freshwater habitats, such as rivers and lakes.
Each animal has a home that helps it find food, water, shelter, and space to live.
