Colombians work hard but party even harder! Every opportunity is good to gather family and friends, turn up the radio and share shots of Guaro (Aguardiente, the local alcohol). Public events are very popular, many related to the Colombian Culture, Colombian historyand religion.

In January and February is the carnival season with the biggest ones being the Carnival de Barranquilla and theBlacks and Whites Carnival (Carnaval de Negros y Blancos) in Pasto, both listed by Unesco as world heritage culture.

Main religious celebrations take place for Christmas and Easter and include: Medellín Christmas lights, Bogota Christmas Lights, the day of the Candles, Holy Week in Popayán and Holy Week in Bogota.

Main cities like Bogota, Medellin and Cali have events and festivals all year long but the most important ones are: the feria de Flores in Medellin, the Feria de Cali or Rock al Parque).
