Summary

I am a native English professor Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. I have been teaching English at the University level for over three years in Colombia (Bogota & Bucaramanga). I have also taught online in the United States (New York). The vast majority of my experience has been at the University level with Colombian and South Korean students. I am eager to learn and take on new challenges. I am mission driven.

Global Mate New York – New York, USA - May 2016 - Current

Online English Professor

I am responsible for teaching students from Seoul, South Korea. I teach the students via X-lite and Skype. I am teaching students of all ages. My students are working professionals who focus on fluency. Daily and monthly reports are mandatory to track the progress of the student. I work one on one with the students via VoIP phone or web cam (FaceTime, Skype, etc.).   

 

University of San Jose - Bogota, Colombia - September 2014 - September 2015

English Professor

I was responsible for teaching English to the professors at the University during the day and then I would teach the students at night. A vast majority of the students were A1/A2 level. The largest groups consisted of 30 students. A vast majority of my students were Latino. I was also responsible for conducting the placement exams. I also conducted the conversation clubs that were held in a symposium type manner.

 

Kiron Language Institute - Bogota, Colombia - September 2014 - February 2015

I taught professionals at their workplace. I assisted the students with skills such as speaking, reading, writing, listening, and language use. I conducted classes that consisted of six (6). The students participated in a wide variety of activities such as role playing, forums, games, karaoke, etc.

Unidades Tecnologias de Santander - Bucaramanga, Colombia - February 2013 - September 2014

I was in charge of supervising the placement exams. I conducted the conversation clubs on campus for A1 - B1 level students. I conducted formal classes of 35 students that were A1-B2 level students. The academic coordinator would occasionally translate documents for the university.

I was responsible for conducting placement exams and conversation clubs. I also conducted study groups that consisted of groups as large as five that functioned like private tutorials. I worked with a wide variety of students from A1-C1. I was also in charge of communicating with the IT department to inform them of all the updates needed on the company's web site.
