Professor Philip Lujan founded Academic Tutors USA in 2009 in Los Angeles, California, USA as an undergrad at the University of La Verne. He was encouraged and inspired to do so while working under his advisor/mentor Duke Freyermuth who established the AVID Tutor program and the PAT Program for the Monrovia School District in Southern California. Professor Lujan assisted and started his career tutoring/teaching with Duke Freyermuth’s AVID and PAT program from 2007-2012. Professor Lujan graduated with a Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in Public Administration from the University of La Verne in 2012. Professor Lujan began his ESL teaching career in 2013 in Bucaramanga, Santander, Colombia. He taught for 2 years (2013-2015) as a full time faculty member and senior advisor to the department chair of the language department at Unidades Tecnologias de Santander (UTS). While at UTS Professor Lujan obtained his Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) certificates from Cambridge English Assessment in November 2013. Professor Lujan also taught in Bogota, Colombia at the University of San Jose as a full time faculty member for 2 years from 2015-2017. Professor Lujan started working online in 2016 with two different companies in (Shanghai & Taipei) China. In 2019  Professor Philip Lujan obtained his Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certificate. Professor Philip Lujan specializes in online ESL classes for all levels of students.
